E1912 follow-up shows ibrutinib effective, well tolerated by majority of CLL patients

The ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group today announced results from extended follow-up of patients in its randomized Phase 3 clinical trial, E1912. Previously untreated patients (aged 70 or younger) with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who received ibrutinib-based therapy lived longer and with sustained benefit, compared to standard FCR chemoimmunotherapy. The updated analysis supports the earlier trial findings (Shanafelt, New England Journal of Medicine, August 2019).
