Tropical Storm Emily on path toward Haiti (AP)

This NOAA satellite image taken Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows Tropical Storm Emily located about 265 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico. An area of low pressure over southern Mexico creates disorganized showers and thunderstorms. The system has a low, 20% chance of tropical storm development. Meanwhile, in the US, a low pressure system in the Upper Midwest kicks up scattered showers and thunderstorms. A ridge over the South brings another hot and sunny day to the Plains and Mississippi River Valley. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND)AP - Rain from the outer bands of Tropical Storm Emily began falling Tuesday in Puerto Rico as the system moved on a track that would take it to the island of Hispaniola within 48 hours and possibly to Florida by the end of the week.
